Avoca Harvest Jubilee & Wine Festival

As the leaves begin to turn and temperatures begin to drop, there is no better time to spend an afternoon on the beautifully landscaped lawns of Avoca enjoying Virginia wines.   The Harvest Jubilee and Wine Festival returns to Avoca on Saturday, October 26th. In its fourteenth year, the festival has become the museum’s signature fundraiser as well as a Central Virginia tradition.   

This year Avoca will host 7 Virginia wineries Sans Soucy Vineyards, Gabrielle Rausse Winery, Peaks of Otter Winery, Rebec Vineyards, Tomahawk Mill Winery, Altillo Vineyards, and Hickory Hill Vineyards under century old oak trees.  This family friendly event includes an adult supervised children’s area with a bouncer.  Meanwhile, the adults can relax in the shade listening to Encore and the Ministers of Soul or wander the landscape, recognized as one of Central Virginia’s best gardens.  Or start your Christmas shopping early with over 20 local vendors and artisans.   Food will include grilled chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers and of course the annual Avoca bake sale with all your favourite goodies.

Discounted pre-sale tasting tickets are on sale at Altavista Chamber of Commerce, The Bank of the James (Altavista office), First National Bank (all branches), Miller’s Jewelry.   No outside food or drinks permitted, no pets allowed.

 $18 tasting, Presale tickets  $13 for tasting. 

 $10 non-tasting,

$5 for children 5-11

and under 5 is free!
