“Keith Lee Dances Summer Arts Showcase,” 7:30 to 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 5, Avoca Museum, 1514 Main St., Altavista. Features special screening of the short film, “Anne Spencer Revisited,” recitations of poetry written by the late Anne Spencer and other artists, and interpretive dances performed by Karen Nicely, Michael Webb, Steffi Wells and Caleb Lindervolson to “Mama Rose” by Archie Shipp, “Gethsemane” by Anne Spencer, “Lapres-midi du faon” by Debussy, and “Meet Me at the Alamo Mission,” “That Cat Can Dance” and “Nature Trails.” Admission, $5 at the gate (cash only). Intermission includes light refreshments. In the case of inclement weather, the performance will be held indoors in the parlor.
